Here is one of Magnuz of Sweden's projects in Second Life.
The Greek temple is a realization in Second Life of a construction I did in another 3D environment, after careful research of how a real such temple was built and its proportions. It represents a Doric style Greek temple from 5th-3rd century B.C., with a classic 6x13 colonnade. Like real Greek temples, it does not have any real function but offering a harmonic exterior and a simple, non-distracting interior for worship or contemplation.

The Greek temple is located in the central of the sim Honawan, a region of the old southern continent of Second Life. It is built prominent on a mountain ridge overlooking the road towards the sims Horseshoe and Tompson/Portage.
Background
Astronomy was what originally got me interested in classic mythology, owing to the names of many celestial objects. This interest in mythology with time resulted in a wider interest in the history of the society that produced it, its science, culture, art and architecture. The Doric style Greek temples appeal to me owing to their simplicity and strong focus on harmony with the surrounding environment. Actually, the second construction I attempted in Second Life was a simple model of a Greek temple, but at that time, I didn't have nearly enough land or prims to do a good job at it. So creating the present version of the temple was actually a both simple and satisfying task.
Construction
I first built the temple in a different location in 2007-08-14 - 2007-08-15, but acquired the land where it is at present 2007-09-02 and moved it to a nearby position 2007-09-17. After removing it for a while, 2007-10-23 - 2007-11-08, it was restored to its present position 2007-11-08. It now shares the parcel with my astronomy theme park, hovering some 300 meters above it, and neighbours on the extreme stair leading up to the theme park, surrounded but not much obscured by a cypress forest.
Future
I am planning to add a monumental stair up to the temple platform, some exterior wooden details, like frontal walls and doors, an interior for the cult and a mountain waterscape park around it. Possibly I will move it to a parcel of its own, instead of having it obscured by the main attraction, the astronomy theme park, in its present location.
